There’s new solo music on the way from Dan Auerbach, and the Black Keys frontman says that it’s “basically everything I love about music all wrapped up into one record.”

Dan told Rolling Stone that the album, which will be released under the name The Arcs, was recorded over 2 weeks along with “a whole bunch of different people – my favorites,” but wouldn’t name names, adding “I just wanted to do my thing and get extra weird.  I wanted everything to flow [and] be cohesive. A lot of the songs bleed one into the other, a lot like the Grateful Dead – my favorite records that they did. So I’ve got a lot of connected songs.”

The album will be released later this summer, but we won’t have to wait too much longer to get a taste of it – Dan will release 2 “boxing-related” songs: “Stay in My Corner” and “Tomato Can,” as a 7-inch vinyl single, available at independent record stores on May 2nd  (which happens to be the day of the Floyd Mayweather/Manny Pacquiao fight in Vegas).
