BATHRROMSEDIT

A gas station bathroom in Whitecourt was just honoured as ‘Top 5 Most Beautiful in Canada’ by BestRestroom.com. It has brown monochrome design and beautiful decorative lighting. This is quite the honour for a town of only 10,000 people. Edmonton didn’t cracked the top of the list but this is a great opportunity to highlight some of our sweetest cans. I  visited 3 restrooms that are most memorable to me. Go behind the scenes of Edmonton’s toilet scene below. – Ryan G

LISTEN: Kick things off with a quick audio-tour of three Edmonton bathrooms with Craig @ Wunderbar, Dan @ Metro Cinema and Adam @ El Cortez.

Bathroom #1: Wunderbar (8120 101 St) was a beloved music venue with a legendary, funky bathroom. Many concert goers would draw on the walls or contribute to damage.

Bathroom #2: Metro Cinema (8712 109 St NW) may appear to have a regular bathroom BUT you have to understand I fell in love with this during a period they didn’t have bathroom mirrors. What I thought was an intentional statement on vanity turned out to be a case of ‘tight budget’ instead. Bathroom mirrors were simply not top priority in the ‘not-for-profit’ Metro Cinema budget. Many fantastic mid-movie bathroom breaks have gone down here.

Bathroom #3: El Cortez has really cool bathrooms designed by the owners Michael and Mel. She put her personality into a regal, gold coloured Señorita‘s room and Mike brought strange creatures and intense red lighting to the Señor‘s room.
