For one reason or another, Edmonton has seen a few music venues close down the last couple years. A group of guys (including Ryan and Mark from The Local Ominvore) have put together a campaign to open a new 150 person venue called “Marvins Garden” just north of downtown. The idea is simple…it would be a venue for live music, theatre, and comedy. Why? Well they say “We want to build a grassroots venue in #yeg to support the growth and vibrant community of live arts and culture.

They have a lofty goal of raising $190,000 over the next month or so, and having the place ready to open by the fall.
