Check out all the new music of the week with Your First Listen! Hosted by SONiC Music Director Brandy Taylor, get the scoop from your favourite artists on their latest work and discover new songs from upcoming artists. Your First Listen airs Sundays at 8pm and Tuesdays at 11pm.

1. Smashing Pumpkins – “Solara”

After 18 long years, the founding members of Smashing Pumpkins have reunited to release a new song – and you can see them perform it LIVE at Rogers Place in September!

2. USS – “Medicine”

USS have returned with your song of the summer! They describe the song as “the feeling of being ghosted in your relationship, when you’re actually the one that typically does the ghosting, and the roller coaster of emotions that comes along with that.” It may boast a heavy message, but it’s a song that’ll get you dancing in no time.

3. Blue October – “I Hope You’re Happy”

These dudes met in high school and have been a band since 1995. With nine albums under their belt, they’re seasoned pros finding some well-deserved success.
