A chance at SONiC Boom tix is pretty sweet. But should you need just a smidgen more convincing to come down and hand over your coppery friends…

I know there’s lots and lots you can do with pennies…like act and sing about them!

Or plaster them all over the surfaces of your dwelling of choice! You kajillionaire, you!

Or display them proudly on your elegant ear lobes!

Or make delicate yet dense artworks with them! Oh the drama!

Or make big fancy secret wishes with them with a carefree chucking!

Or use them to illustrate how affordable you think the car you made is!

But at the end of the day, most pennies are not the shiny luminescent currency specimens that they’re made out to be in all the big Hollywood movies. No siree. Most of them end up stuck to picture frames alongside macaroni or oxidized, unwanted, left, taken, in a big box like this:

And while one or two of the options listed above are decent ways to pay homage to the humble penny, the BEST way to go about it is most certainly to cart them down to the SONiC (5915 Gateway Blvd) on June 1st for YESS’s Homeless For a Night campaign!

• Pinch of salt
• Pinch of cinnamon
• 1 cup of egg whites cooked with a handful of spinach
• 1/3 cup cottage cheese

Other Breakfast:

•  2 scoops of protein powder
• 2 yogurt cups
• 2 rice cakes
• 1 Apple
• 1 Pear
• 3 cups raw veggies

Lunch:

•  1 can of tuna
• 1 cup of oatmeal
• 1 tablespoon peanut butter
• Stevia zero calorie sweetener
• Pinch of salt
• Pinch of cinnamon

Supper:

• 2 chicken breasts
• 1 yam
• BIG salad
• Homemade salad dressing (1 tbl Flax Oil, 1 tbl balsamic, salt, pepper, spices)

Snack:

• 1 cup plain yogurt with 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
• 1 bowl of Alpin cereal with 1% milk
• 1 bowl of berries

Edmonton will be joining thousands of gutsy walkers across Canada to help find a cure for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Over the past 16 years, Gutsy Walk has grown from raising $280,000 per year to more than $2 million per year for research. Due to pledge-earning efforts, there are more IBD researchers hard at work in Canada, and therefore CCFC receives more excellent research proposals every year. For that reason, and because we know first-hand the toll IBD takes on people; we are aiming higher this year with the goal to raise $3.3 million!

Rumours about Yauch’s ongoing battle with cancer were sparked anew last month when the rapper was not present alongside fellow band members Adam Horovitz and Michael Diamond at the group’s induction into the Hall of Fame

Their latest viral scheme involves releasing a series of what they call “mini-films’, highlighting individual songs on the album and featuring exclusive song and interview clips.
