I have read hundreds of these radio announcer bios over the years and must say that I am surprised at how many radio announcers were raised by wolves.  My story, in comparison, is quite dull.  I was raised in Saskatchewan by my school teacher parents (Corie and Garry) surrounded by my brothers (Grady and Graham) and my sister (Christy).  My parents and my siblings are all super smart and have degrees and letters before and after their names.  I, sadly, do not unless you count “DJ”.  Ha, ha.  That’s good stuff, G—damn good stuff.  I’ve been married to the same girl—the TW—for a long time.  I like her.  A lot.

If you also harbour a forbidden love of puns, you might want to call me a ‘lucky Penny’ for being here at SONiC, but it really feels that way! I graduated from BCIT’s Radio Broadcasting program and soon found myself running around Edmonton in an orange jacket. Maybe it was my knowledge of equestrian, nature-fan-yoga-mat-toting disposition, extreme bookwormishness or my brief stint with the Olympic broadcast services that got me here. Either way, I try to fill those Saturday night shows with enough music info and quirky factoids to give you something in your back pocket should you encounter any awkward silences.
