Old Wives Bio:

The Old Wives have been a band since mid 2008.

Liam & Drrn having played together before in various bands around Edmonton (Les Tabernacles/Kasuals) recruited drinking buddy T.S. who’d played in a bunch of buddy bands himself.

After having gone through a couple of bass players including old pal the Reverend Theodore Charles Wright the band recorded a hit 45 for local vinyl label ES&D Recordings.  Old Wives were coming together well but knew that something was missing and needed to be found to take the band to the next level.  After a rough band meeting one night they decided to let ‘er go at the newfie bar down the street & fell upon Dix, a Nova Scotian nightmare with the voice of a hot young Belinda Carlisle.

In summer 2009 the band traveled south to Lafayette Indiana to record their first full-length CD with hero Phillip Hill in Sonic Iguana Studios.  The studio has been the home to such bands as Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, Screeching Weasel and Mike Dirnt from Green Day.

Since then, Old Wives have been lucky enough to support Screeching Weasel, Chixdiggit and Wilhelm Scream at local sold out shows and have made a few trips west with great success.

Old Wives hope to remind you what they remember punk-rock being all about…Good times, good people and a few bottles of beer.
