funeralToday a regimental funeral will be held for Edmonton Police Constable Daniel Woodall. He was the officer tragically shot and killed in the line of duty last week. A law enforcement procession will begin at 9:30am at the Legislature and travel up 107 Street to Jasper Avenue, then turning right onto 95 Street and down Grierson Hill to the Shaw Conference Centre. The funeral will then begin at 11:30am. There will be public places to watch, including city hall, in front of the Shaw, and at the Legislature.

There will also be many other traffic details to be aware of throughout most of the day:
– 107 Street between 96 Avenue and Jasper Avenue closed
– Jasper Avenue, between 95 – 108 Street closed
– 95A Street, between Grierson Hill – Jasper Avenue closed
– 101 Avenue, between 96 Street – Jasper Avenue closed
– 96 Street, between 101 Avenue – Jasper Avenue closed
– 97 Street, north of Jasper Avenue closed
– 101A Avenue, east of 95A Street closed
– 100A Street, north of Jasper Avenue closed
– 99 Avenue, between 106 – 109 Street closed
– Starting at 8:30am all cross traffic on procession route closed
– Grierson Hill closed (until 3:30pm)
– Roads will reopen around 11:30 am, starting on the west side of the procession route

Its also worth noting that LRT service will be increased to run every 5 minutes. ETS will also offer free bus and train service for people heading downtown.
