Earlier this week Rural Alberta Advantage released a new song called “Beacon Hill.” It was inspired by the wildfires that destroyed parts of Fort McMurray last year.

Frontman Nils Edenloff grew up in Fort Mac, still has some family living there, and was obviously rattled by the news footage of his former town burning down. He talks to Sonic about the fires and how it led to this new song. He also talks about their upcoming sold out show in Edmonton, and a new album coming later this year!
