21 years to the day before grunge icon Chris Cornell was found unresponsive, he and Soundgarden were the musical guests on SNL.

 

The episode was hosted by Jim Carrey and had the band perform two tracks off their Down on the Upside album – “Burden in My Hand” and “Pretty Noose”. Watch their performance below.
