Rust Magic Street Mural Festival is back for its second year, leaving Edmonton with the gift of 20 brand-spanking new murals.

The festival celebrates street art with large scale permanent pieces sprinkled throughout downtown. This year, artists from all over Canada as well as New York, Mexico, France and Spain will create pieces on walls donated by private businesses.

The festival is organised by just two people, Trevor Peters and Annaliza Toledo, who are professional street artists themselves. They picked up a lot of the cost for last year’s festival, so this year, the city decided to help them out.

The Edmonton Arts Council donated $25, 000, which according to Peters and Toldeo, will help cover the cost of the 100+ cans of spray paint each wall needs.

The festival ends July 30, so make sure to go check out all the artists. Check out their virtual mural map HERE, and their recap video for 2016 below.
