NASA is hiring a planetary protection officer aka someone who can protect earth from “organic-constituent and biological contamination in human and robotic space exploration.

According to the listing, the new hire will be “responsible for the leadership of NASA’s planetary protection capability, maintenance of planetary protection policies, and oversight of their implementation by NASA’s space flight missions.

It’s not clear whether the new hire would be working alongside or replacing the current planetary protection officer, Catharine Conley.

If you’re interested, you have until August 14th to apply – and to make a starting wage of $124, 406 a year. Not too shabby.
