For years, women’s underwear brand Aerie has been using “untouched” photos in their campaigns. Now the company is taking their unedited photos to the next level by including models with visible disabilities and illnesses. Even cooler – one of the models calls Edmonton home.

The #AerieReal campaign celebrates all body types by including a wheelchair-bound model, a type-1 diabetic, a model with crutches and another with Down Syndrome. Lexus Morgan grew up in Edmonton. When she was 2 years old, she developed vitiligo – a condition that causes skin to lose its pigmentation. After hearing of Aerie’s new campaign, she applied to be a part of it and got the gig. She spoke with Brooklyn about what the opportunity meant to her, the fight for inclusion and the why representation matters. Listen below.
