Grab your snacks, a new anti-hero show is on the way!

Marvel’s Loki, the adoptive brother of Thor, has a dark sense of humour so it only made sense when Rick and Morty writer Micheal Waldron signed on as the showrunner for the upcoming series.

The show will be housed on Disney’s upcoming streaming service, Disney+. Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role while Waldron will write the pilot and serve as an executive producer.

By the sounds of it, Loki will “be something of a time-traveling, shape-shifting trickster, who influences or thwarts certain historic events”, so Waldron will be right at home.

Disney+ currently has no launch date, but is expected to premiere this year.
