One of the biggest bands in alternative music has chosen to write a soundtrack… for a movie filmed in EDMONTON!!!

Portugal the Man have done the music for “Puppy Love” – a film shot in YEG by director Michael Maxxis staring Sean Penn’s son, Hopper Penn! Portugal the Man are the Grammy Award winning band behind the SMASH single, “Feel It Still”.

I chatted with Michael Maxxis about what it’s like to work with Portugal the Man, and to find out how this fellow Edmontonian worked his way to getting connections with some of the hugest names in Hollywood:
