Over the weekend, both Weezer and Foo Fighters were headlining Rock in Rio festival in Brazil. Weezer was on stage before the Foo so they took advantage of the scheduling to dedicate a Nirvana cover to the group.

Frontman Rivers Cuomo said, “We’re gonna cover a song from Dave Grohl’s old band to tide you over until the main course in a few minutes.”

A little while later, while Foo Fighters were on stage, Dave Grohl dedicated “Big Me” to Weezer, saying, “Tonight I’m gonna dedicate this one to Weezer. I was backstage and I heard Weezer play the ‘Lithium’ song. I gotta be honest, I cried a little bit. I did! I miss playing that song. I miss it, so I’m happy to hear Weezer play it again. So this one goes out to the sweet Weezer.”

Dave also revealed that the band was going “home next week and [to] start making a new Foo Fighters record”.
