Mumford and Sons have finally shared a song they’ve been working on for years. On Wednesday, the band debuted “Blind Leading The Blind”, a song inspired by the works of American author John Steinbeck.

The song was originally intended to be included on the band’s most recent album Delta, but it didn’t feel complete in time for the release. They kept it in their back pocket where they forgot about it, until last month when they were awarded the prestigious John Steinbeck Award. Frontman Marcus Mumford is a self-proclaimed studier of the great author and decided it was the sign they needed to complete the song.
