Billy Corgan has shared his plans for the Smashing Pumpkins’ follow up album to 2018’s Shiny and Oh So Bright Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun.

Speaking with Nashville’s 102.9 The Buzz from the Love Shack Studios, Corgan revealed that the new album is “currently 21 songs” in length and that he’s been working on it for the past year.

“It’s pretty different — in a good way, I think,” he added. “Everybody that’s heard it likes it a lot, so that’s a good sign.”

Corgan also revealed the band’s plans to get back on the road.

“We’re gonna do some touring. We’re playing a big festival in Atlanta — I think in April or May — Shaky Knees. We might be doing a little ‘surprisey’ gig soon.”
