The Nacho Average Showdown is a live nacho battle between Guy Fieri and Bill Murray.

The event will be happening live on May 15th, in support of Guy Fieri’s Restaurant Employee Relief Fund which will help restaurant workers who are out of work because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Approximately 8 million restaurant workers are unemployed right now, so the RERF provides them with grants. This is what Guy Fieri had to say in a statement about the cause:

“From bussing tables to flambé captain to dishwasher to chef… I have done it all. I’ve also spent the better part of the last 15 years traveling this great country meeting other folks who’ve dedicated their lives to this business, and let me tell you something, they are the hardest working, most real deal workers you’ve ever met… the heartbeats of their communities. But they need our help and with the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund, we can serve up some support when these restaurant employees need it most… right now.”

Carla Hall will be hosting the virtual event, with special judges Terry Crews and Shaquille O’Neal. It’ll be going down this Friday at 5 p.m. EST, so 3 p.m. in Edmonton.

Here’s a video of the competitors on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, talking about the event.
