Ben Gibbard might be the busiest musician under lockdown. At the beginning of the pandemic, the Death Cab For Cutie frontman vowed to host a live concert streamed from his home five days a week. After covering everyone from Radiohead to the Beatles, Gibbard released “Life in Quarantine”, a single for charity. Now he’s returned with a new solo track called “Proxima B”.

“Proxima B” will be released as an exclusive 7-inch on Gibbard’s resurrected Bedside Recordings label, marking their first release since 2003. A cover of Minor Threat’s “Filler” will act as the single’s B-side.

Both songs are available for physical pre-order on Death Cab’s website. Last week, Gibbard ended his live stream concerts after eleven consecutive weeks.
