Former singer of R.E.M, Michael Stipe has released a new track with Big Red Machine. Big Red Machine is a collaboration group with Justin Vernon from Bon Iver and Aaron Dessner from The National.

The song is called “No Time For Love Like Now” and has been in the works by Big Red Machine over the last year, according to Aaron Dessner.

“On a whim, I shared a folder of in-progress BRM sketches with Michael last year, and it was exciting when he really gravitated to a few of them,” Dessner told Rolling Stone. “Michael wrote the lyrics to ‘No Time for Love Like Now’ last fall, but when the reality of the COVID-19 pandemic and social-distancing and self-isolation descended, they felt like they were written about this time all along and perhaps the message resonates especially now.”

Michael Stipe performed the song on The Late Late Show back in April, but today the official music video was finally released.

The song has also been paired with merch, with proceeds going to the Equal Justice Initiative. You can check out the merch here.
