Due to the pandemic, Coachella had initially postponed the festival from April to October. This was the original announcement:

According to Los Angeles Times, Dr. Cameron Kaiser who is a Riverside County public health officer, says that “because of the risks of the ongoing pandemic, the two-weekend festival will be off until next year at the earliest.” Coachella made the cancellation announcement on June 11th, however, they also included dates for the 2021 festival. The options on refunding or saving your 2020 pass for next year are mentioned as well.

This will be the first year that Coachella is not happening, since 2000. However, the festival did release a YouTube Original called “Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert” that you can check out in the meantime. It’s a documentary, about an hour and 43 minutes long that “provides a rare look at Coachella’s colorful beginning, presents exclusive, never-before-seen footage, interviews, and key performances from some of the biggest names in music.”
