Gorillaz have been releasing musical collaborations lately as part of their ongoing Song Machine series. The band purposely chose against having a set release schedule promising a “spontaneous delivery of episodes throughout the year”.

They’ve been releasing episodes of the series since January, including “Aries” with Petter Hook, “Momentary Bliss” with Slowthai and Slaves, “Desole” with Fatoumata Diawara, “Friday 13th” with Octavian, and “PAC-MAN” with ScHoolboy Q.

Their next collaboration is very surprising and exciting. This was posted yesterday (September 7th):

That’s right, The Cure’s Robert Smith will be featured in the new Gorillaz song. Today it was announced that the release will be tomorrow night (September 9th), and it will be called “Strange Timez”. You can listen to a clip in the post below.

The band has also been working on another project – The Gorillaz Almanac. The book is to commemorate the band’s 20-year visual history.

You can read more about it here.
