Nandi Bushell is a 10-year-old musician known for her covers of various alternative bands like Rage Against The Machine, Green Day, Nirvana, Foo Fighters and more. About a month ago on August 17th, Nandi Bushell posted a video of her covering Foo Fighters’ “Everlong” on drums. Except this time at the end of her cover, she challenged Dave Grohl himself to a drum battle.

Dave Grohl accepted her challenge and responded with a video, which has started quite the drum off back and forth, so lets get you up to date.

Dave Grohl challenged Nandi to learn “Dead End Friends” by Them Crooked Vultures. They’re a supergroup, formed back in 2009 with Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin and Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age. Not long after Grohl’s video was uploaded, Nandi Bushell posted her reaction video to the challenge. You can watch it below.

Well, Nandi had some practice time and responded to Dave with a crushing cover of Them Crooked Vultures! She ever mirrors Dave’s mannerisms!

Now, the most recent episode of this drum battle involves Dave Grohl creating a “Nandi Bushell Theme Song”. He says in the video that he wrote this off the top of his head, with the help of “The Grohlettes”, his three daughters.

One of the comments from a fan named Philip said it the best, “What I’ve realized is a) Dave Grohl is possibly the best human being on the planet right now. b) he can make any song catchy and c) the man is and will always be a virtuoso on drums.”
