The Smashing Pumpkins announce double album and animated series

Billy Corgan and his crew have returned. On Friday, the rockers announced their eleventh studio album, CYR.

The double album will feature 20 new songs recorded in their hometown of Chicago, including the previously released title track.

In addition to the album announcement, the band shared a trailer for an upcoming Corgan-created animated series. Entitled In Ashes, the series will feature five episodes and new music. The first two episodes, “As the Crow Flies” and “Inspirations, Aspirations”, arrive on September 25.

CYR will be released on November 27.
