This week would’ve been Tom Petty’s 70th birthday, so in honour of him, multiple musicians are participating in the Tom Petty Birthday Bash livestream on Friday, October 23rd.

The event will be five hours and include performances from Foo Fighters, Beck, Eddie Vedder, The Killers, The Raconteurs and more! This is the third year for the Tom Petty Birthday Bash which started in 2017, in Petty’s hometown of Gainesville, Florida, the year he passed away.

The stream is completely free to watch, however donations go towards UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine.

“Every day at UF Health in Gainesville, FL, professional musicians trained to work in the healthcare setting, impact the lives of patients and staff by performing music at the bedside. In addition, these musicians participate in clinical research and education programs that demonstrates the capacity of music to reduce suffering, and empower musicians to do this work in other communities across the US and abroad.”

The livestream will kick off on October 23rd at 7 p.m. Eastern Time, so 5 p.m. here in Edmonton. You can get more information and watch the stream on Tom Petty’s website by clicking here.
