Shortly before the release of their ninth studio album, Music of the Spheres, Coldplay’s Chris Martin admitted that the band’s remaining time is limited.

During a conversation with UK station Absolute Radio, Martin shared that he thinks the band will only create twelve albums total.

“I think that, in a few albums’ time, we will finish making albums,” Martin said. “This is not a joke; this is true.”

He continued, “I think after twelve, that will be the end of our catalogue – but I think we will always want to play live together. So, I think in the way that the [Rolling] Stones do, it will be so cool if we can still be touring in our late 70s. That will be wonderful if anybody wants to come.”

Music of the Spheres will be released on October 15.
