Last week, Red Hot Chili Peppers announced their new album, Unlimited Love. Although it hasn’t even been released yet, the band may have even more on the way.

Speaking to NME, frontman Anthony Kiedis and returning guitarist John Frusciante admitted that there could be even more new music soon.

“We’re gonna put out music by the handful – literally,” said Kiedis. “Don’t be surprised if another wheelbarrow of songs comes your way in the near future. We have a lot of shit to turn people onto.”

Frusciante added that there is a “loose plan” to release more music following Unlimited Love. According to RHCP, they “recorded almost 50 pieces of music” with producer Rick Rubin. “We definitely have enough material that we love, said Frusciante, adding that the next project already “has a relaxed energy that’s distinct from the intensity of the record that we’ve made here”.

Red Hot Chili Peppers will release Unlimited Love on April 1. It marks the band’s first new music since 2016’s The Getaway, and the first with Frusciante since 2006’s Stadium Arcadium.

RHCP will head out on tour this summer with A$AP Rocky, Thundercat, Anderson .Paak, The Free Nationals, HAIM, Beck, and The Strokes. Their only Canadian tour date is set for Toronto on August 21.
