The Glorious Sons have offered up another song off their upcoming album, Glory. Take a listen to “Lightning Bolt” below.

Frontman Brett Emmons describes the song as “Josie #2 – but it was about someone else, and I wanted it to be for her. I love the part of writing that allows you to create a universe out of different people’s personalities and stories. I think it’s one of the things we can offer others that not very many people can. The thought of letting someone know that you notice them, that their presence has value. It’s also a little bit of a high trying to impress someone with what you can deduce about the next layer of their being- the parts they don’t exactly show out in the open. Almost like a puzzle.

For me – the lightning bolt is the person that everyone wants to be around – someone with a gift for human connection and I don’t think that’s always a very easy place to be.

This person put a mirror up to me and helped me understand way more about myself – so I wanted to give her a song to celebrate the parts of her that she didn’t necessarily know were so beautiful.”

“Lightning Bolt” follows the band’s recent release “Mercy Mercy”. Glory will be released this fall.
