The Foo Fighters’ tribute concert to their late drummer Taylor Hawkins has earned them an Emmy nomination.

It is one of five nominees in the “Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Variety Series Or Special” category. Directed by Joel Gallen, the live concert was filmed on September 3, 2022, at London’s Wembley Stadium.

The six-hour concert was streamed by millions of fans around the globe and featured Liam Gallagher, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, Dave Grohl’s daughter Violet, a Them Crooked Vultures reunion, and more. One of the night’s most moving performances was when Hawkins’ son Shane performed “My Hero” with the band.

The concert is up against U2’s Bono & The Edge: A Sort Of Homecoming With Dave LettermanElton John Live: Farewell From Dodger StadiumThe 65th Annual Grammy Awards, and Saturday Night Live.

Hawkins passed away at the age of 50 in March 2022.

As of now, the Emmys are set to be handed out on September 18, 2023, but that could change due to strikes within the industry.
