Jack White is hailing Big Sugar’s debut 500 Pounds as the “best Blue-based record ever to come out of Canada”. His label, Third Man Records, will reissue the album next month.

In a video, White raved about the Canadian album.

“I don’t usually do this, but this record means a lot to me. It’s really important to me, especially when I was a teenager.” He revealed that he purchased the album at the band’s show in Pontiac, MI, two years before it was officially released in the US. “I love this record so much,” he added.

The reissue arrives on February 16. The limited-edition pressing comes on “frosted blue” vinyl and a bonus 7-inch. Pre-orders have already sold out, but Third Man Records have confirmed that more will be available on the day of the release at the label’s headquarters in Nashville while standard editions will be available for purchase on the label’s online shop.
